Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Bacopa, its web app, its MCP server and its Chrome extension, and set the conditions under which we provide it. By using Bacopa, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. Alpha release and AI-written content

Bacopa is an alpha release under active development. Parts of it, including its core features, are built with generative AI, and the facts and briefs it writes from your documents come from AI models. As a result:

• The service may contain bugs, errors or unexpected behavior.
• Facts and briefs may be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check the original document before you rely on them.
• We make no guarantees about the availability, accuracy, completeness or fitness of the service for any purpose.

By using Bacopa, you accept these limits and use the service at your own risk.

2. Your bookmarks

• You are responsible for the links you save, the files you upload and the exports you import, and for having the right to access them. Bacopa keeps a private copy of each document for you, so you and your agents can read it; it never publishes it or shares it with other users.
• The AI agents you connect act for you. What they save through MCP is yours, as if you had saved it, and you can review and delete it in the web app.
• The service has limits, such as 100 saves an hour and the saves your trial or subscription allows. Don't try to get around them.

3. Trial, subscription and payment

A new account starts with a 7-day trial that allows 50 saves and needs no payment. Accounts created before subscriptions existed got a 30-day trial instead. To keep using Bacopa after the trial, subscribe from the Account screen for $5 a month or $50 a year. Subscribing during the trial ends it, and you pay the first month or year that day. Prices are in US dollars and include sales taxes; the checkout may show them in your currency.

An invitation from us makes the account that signs in with it complimentary: free, with a subscription's limits, for as long as the account exists. Each invitation works once, within 30 days.

• Stripe processes payments, and Link, its payment service, sells the subscription to you as merchant of record. Its terms also apply to your payment, and your statement shows LINK.COM.
• A subscription renews at the end of each month or year until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the Account screen; the subscription then lasts until the end of the period you paid for.
• Payments aren't refunded, in whole or in part, except where the law requires it. Your statutory rights, such as a right of withdrawal, are unaffected.
• A subscription allows 1,000 saves in any 30 days. Searching and reading your bookmarks aren't limited.
• If a payment fails, Stripe tries it again; if it still fails, the subscription ends.
• If we change a price, the new price applies to your subscription only from a renewal after we have told you about it.

4. Acceptable use and prohibited activities

You agree to use Bacopa in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and not to:

• Save or upload documents you have no right to access, or use Bacopa to get around a paywall, a login or any other access control.
• Upload or save illegal content, including material that infringes intellectual property rights, incites violence, promotes hate or discrimination, or is sexually inappropriate.
• Use Bacopa's fetching of web pages to harm a website, for example by flooding it with requests.
• Harm the service or its users, including by distributing malware or by trying to gain unauthorized access to the service or to other users' bookmarks.
• Use the facts, briefs or any other output of the service in ways that violate the law or the rights of others.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms or engage in illegal, unethical or abusive activities.

5. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen. This ends your subscription at once, without refund, deletes all your bookmarks, with their originals, text, facts and briefs, and revokes every AI client you connected. Export your links first if you want to keep them.

We delete your account in the same way when your trial ends without a subscription, and 30 days after your subscription ends. Until then, you can subscribe again to keep everything, or export your links.

6. Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of assets, or transition of the service to another provider, your account information and data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that any successor honors these Terms of Service with respect to your account. Where the law requires it, we will notify you of any such transfer and of your related rights.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will tell you through the service. Please review these terms from time to time.
